Letter from Coaches: Chaska 13-1 A year’s summary for this Travel team was impressive. Continued growth and improvement of this team can been seen in their finishes at tournaments. Chaska 13’s finished third at the President’s Day Tourney in February, first at the NCR Area Event in April, and 27th at the AAU Nationals. This finish in Florida is the highest finish any Chaska 13’s team has earned. The individual skills acquired and knowledge gained will remain with these girls. Each girl rose to a challenge throughout the season by filling her role. The serving became focused and the hitting attacked for kills by shot placement. The girls proved there knowledge of the game by knowing what was open on the opponent’s side and adjusting our defense so that we didn’t allow them to score on us by tips or shots. A HUGE thank you to all of our parents. Your time, driving expertise, and support were always present and wonderful. It was great seeing the pride you have in your daughter on your face at each function. Thank you to Kris P. and Carol E. for chaperoning at Nationals. The girls were always in good hands and were well fed. Thank you to Ron E. for being our parent representative. We look forward to watching your volleyball careers continue. We hope that you find success as you did here. The best of luck to you all, and we will see you on the courts. Chuck Zemek & Sara Grams Congratulations to all the Tournament Teams on a great season!! 10 teams participated in their final tournament this weekend: The NCR Area Event also led to medals for the CAYVA Teams
Congratulations to the 15-1's for playing and working hard all weekend (May 10-11). They finished 3rd in their division at the Rochester Cup.
CAYVA 14-1’s continue a great season. The CAYVA 14-1’s have been competing in several tournaments this year. They recently competed in the “Diggin in the Dells” tournament in Wisconsin Dells and tied for third place out of 68 teams. They continue their schedule playing in two local tournaments before leaving for an AAU tournament in Florida in June.
Congratulations to the CAYVA 14-2’s who finished second in the silver division of the NCR Area Event. The team compiled a successful season with an overall record of 20-12.
CAYVA 11-2's Finish First in Bronze Division at NCR Tournament Chaska 11-2's proudly ended their season taking first in the bronze division at the NCR area event on Saturday April 26th.
CAYVA 13-3's Finish 2nd in Silver at NCR Tournament Chaska 13-3's ended their season with a bang. They ended up taking second in the Silver Division beating out teams from Rosemount, Woodbury,
Chaska's 12-1's ended their season playing in the NCR Tournament at Ralia Sports Center April 25th. It was a great year for CAYVA 12-1's. The team showed lots of development and growth this season! Great job girls!!
The 18-1's continued to have success this season with a strong preformance at the Northern Lights Qualifier April 19-21! The team finished tied for 9th overall out of 77 teams entered. This tied them for the highest finishing Minnesota team in the Club Division and the highest finishing "non-club" team in the 18's Division! Great job! The 18-1's made it three tournament Championships in a row on Sunday when they won the MSU tournament this weekend. This follows the Championship victories at the Gold Heart Challenge in Kansas City in March and at Ralia Sports Center last weekend! The team continues to play very well! They have an overall record of 37-6-2, including 33-3-2 in the last 38 matches, and they are undefeated in their last 20 matches!
Great job!
18's 1st at Gold Heart Challenge ~ Congratulations!!
After a few matches to get things dialed-in at the beginning of the season, the 18-1's have been on a roll! After finishing 2nd at the President's Day Festival, they went 7-2 in two other tournaments prior to heading to Kansas City for the Gold Heart Challenge on March 15-16. There they went 9-0-2 in matches and 20-3 in games to win the Championship! The team worked hard and battled all weekend before making a comeback after losing the first game of the Championship match to a tough Springfield, MO team. Great job ladies! Presidents' Day Festival Congratulations to all the CAYVA teams 18-1's - 2nd in 18's Gold Division The 13-3’s are having a great season so far and are showing improvement at every practice. We had some of the most exciting matches during President’s Day including going 20/22 in the third game with Blaine Jrs for first place in the pool. We ended up finishing 11 places higher than what we were seeded which was our goal going into the weekend. This team has come together to form friendships and bonds not only with the players but I believe with the parents as well. Keep up the great work 13-3’s!!
The 18-1's have been making improvements all season long! Each tournament there has been noticeable improvement by individuals and by the group as a whole which was very evident at the President's Day Festival. The team played great all weekend and lost only 1 game prior to reaching the Championship match! The came up against a strong Southwest MN Juniors team and fell just short in their run for the Championship. The 2nd Place finish is nice, but the improvement made by everyone each and every tournament is even more satisfying and what it is all about.
